Re-opening Plans

Yes! Good news! Haney Presbyterian Church is re-opening its building. The session has looked carefully at the options and decided we will proceed slowly, balancing our physical, social and financial health. We will be returning to Sunday worship in the Sanctuary, starting on Sunday, October 4 but will continue to record the worship service for those who are unable to come.

Worshiping in the sanctuary will be different but it will still honour God and we will be together. The protocols for face-to-face worship have been determined by our government; the guidelines are not all that different to the practices we follow as we go out and about. Our numbers will be limited initially so you will need to register for worship each week by phoning or emailing the church office. We will practise physical distancing and wear masks. It is true that we will not be singing but there will still be music. The service itself will be shorter than our pre-COVID services. We will not pass the offering plates nor the mikes; you can give your gifts to God when you are entering or leaving.

We are also planning to return to more of our other church activities, but we will be doing so slowly. Not everything will be up and running right away. No doubt there will be a few bumps in the road but we will make great efforts to ensure that you feel both welcome and safe.
