What’s the Scoop on the Search Committee?

DSC07575As the months pass, our congregation may wonder what progress is being made in the process to find a new full time pastor. The November newsletter contains a letter from our Interim-Moderator Rev. Bernie Skelding and a further letter from him was included as an insert in the worship bulletin for Sunday, November 19th.

Session recently named a Search Committee of ten members which will be convened by Hugh McIntyre. “An important part of the search process involves inviting congregational input via a Congregational Survey…which in turn will help in developing a Congregational Profile.” This survey will be distributed in the near future.

“A Congregational Profile is a comprehensive document that helps ministry candidates gain a good understanding of Haney Presbyterian Church in terms of God’s past and present faithfulness, as well as our hopes for how God will be at work in and through us going forward.”

Throughout this process, we will remember the promises of our Living God from Jeremiah 29:11-13, and continually uphold the Search Committee in prayer as together we seek God’s will.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

[Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV]
