I heard the geese arrive in our marsh last weekend. Now that spring is here, I expect they’ll be starting the nesting process, building them out of sight among the tall grasses and reeds. Every spring one silly goose chooses to nest on top of an abandoned beaver house way out in the middle of the marsh. Even though she’s clearly visible to us (and potential predators) she is safe out there, totally surrounded by water.
She reminds me that even when we’re exposed to worrisome or unfamiliar situations in life, we can feel secure because the love of God constantly surrounds us.
With changing seasons come challenges, but God is always with us.
Our Haney congregation will be facing its own ‘new season’ at the end of June when our lead pastor, the Reverend Dr. Gerard Booy resigns to pursue a new ministry of Spiritual Discernment with individuals and small groups. The loss of his leadership in our congregation will be immense. The very thought of it is painful. Even so…
With changing seasons come challenges, but God is always with us. ALWAYS.
